The armed forces: the Navy

The navy had the following means: - submarines: these, owned by all nations, were used to force a blockade: the Germans, damaged by the English blockade and in possession of a fleet that, although very strong, could not compete with the English one, they used them (the famous U-Boot) - surface ships, in turn divided, by size and destination in: • destroyers (small support ships) • torpedo boats • cruisers • battleships • MAS: these were anti submarine motorboats, which D'Annunzio had renamed, given the same initials (acronym) memento audere semper (in Latin: remember to always dare).
