The society

Greek society was divided into social classes.

The aristocrats were the people who had the most power and were the richest.

Then there were the traders and craftsmen who, thanks to the increase in craft activities, became increasingly wealthy.

Most of the population was made up of farmers, ranchers, fishermen and workers.

They worked hard and were unable to participate in the political life of the city.

Finally there were the slaves, who were not free people and did the most tiring jobs.
