La religione

The religion

The Romans were polytheists, that is, they believed in more gods.

They represented natural elements such as the sun and wind and the spiritual world.

They worshiped Jupiter, Mars, Vesta and Quirinus and built temples to celebrate their sacred rites.

The funeral rites provided for the burial of the plebs inside the necropolis, outside the city walls.

Together with the bodies of the dead, food and other useful objects were left for the passing of the dead.

The bodies of the patricians were instead incinerated.
